Don Taylor was recently hired in March 2021 as the Executive Director of Licensing, and he will lead this team for all schools, colleges, and institutes across the university. All seven of these roles will be instrumental in growing Ohio State’s licensing capabilities and achievements.
Associate Director – Licensing, Engineering
The Associate Director, Licensing, will report to the Executive Director of Licensing and oversee the licensing team assigned to serve the College of Engineering and related centers and institutes for The Ohio State University.
Associate Director – Licensing, Health Sciences
The Associate Director, Licensing, will report to the Executive Director of Licensing and oversee the licensing team assigned to serve the Health Sciences related colleges, centers, and institutes, including the College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Optometry, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, College of Public Health, and the Wexner Medical Center for The Ohio State University.

Senior Licensing Officer, Therapeutics (2 positions available)
The Senior Licensing Officer (“SLO”) is responsible for identifying technologies with commercial applications, evaluating the commercial potential of technologies, identifying potential licensees, preparing non-confidential technical information for marketing purposes, developing and implementing specific marketing strategies for each technology, and drafting and negotiating mid- to large-sized license agreements and other types of agreements including material transfer, collaboration and nondisclosure agreements. Responsible for performing own, or directing licensing officers’, negotiations related to the Intellectual Property (IP), as well as demonstrating valuation and IP understanding. The SLO may also be responsible for mentoring and support of licensing analysts, licensing managers and student interns. The ideal candidate will be a visionary and inspiring team member who is committed to fostering an inclusive, innovative, and high performing culture with a varied group of people representing diverse ideas, perspectives, and background.
