Gardner Innovation Search Partners has been charged with finding exceptional candidates to join the Office of Innovation and Economic Development’s Technology Commercialization Office at The Ohio State University in the following Senior Licensing Officer role:
Senior Licensing Officer, Digital Health, Software & AI
The Senior Licensing Officer (“SLO”) is responsible for identifying technologies with commercial applications, evaluating the commercial potential of technologies, identifying potential licensees, preparing non-confidential technical information for marketing purposes, developing and implementing specific marketing strategies for each technology, and drafting and negotiating mid- to large-sized license agreements and other types of agreements including material transfer, collaboration and nondisclosure agreements. Responsible for performing own, or directing licensing officers’, negotiations related to the Intellectual Property (IP), as well as demonstrating valuation and IP understanding. The IP may be in the fields of digital health, software, statistics, artificial intelligence, and related fields. The SLO may also be responsible for mentoring and support of licensing analysts, licensing managers and student interns. The areas of domain expertise we are looking for include, but are not limited to:
- Digital Health
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Natural language processing
- Visual recognition algorithms
- Computational methods for analyzing medical data, such as imaging, pathological or genetic data, to provide personalized treatment options for patients
- Clinical decision support tools
- Predictive algorithms for operational and financial efficiency
Required Qualifications: Masters, MBA, JD, or Ph.D. Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in any combination of corporate licensing/M&A, university technology transfer and/or industry technical roles within research or engineering required. Industry experience highly desired.
Desired: 10+ years’ experience in any combination of corporate licensing/M&A, university technology transfer and/or industry technical roles within research or engineering required. Target Salary: Salary is flexible and will be based on experience.
